Love Animals

Last Updated on April 2, 2024 by Jawad Ali

There are people who cry if they know about an animal’s death or any incident of animal cruelty. I once had a friend who used to talk to his dog at his office. But on the other hand, there are different communities that voluntarily help animals, and in return, they want nothing.

If you feel the same way, then you are not the only one who is like this. There are a lot of people who tend to love animals more than anything else. On the other hand, sometimes there are people who do not like the fact that animal lovers celebrate birthdays and other occasions of their pets.

This article is for both animal lovers and people who are thinking of taking a pet. But before doing that, you should definitely know about the breed and learn how to pet them. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to have one in your home. These days dogs breeds are popular, and you will find almost dogs in every household.

But, about the community and the people who love animals more than humans, is this normal? Or the process and love are complicated from normal things. Here, you will find all the information about animal-loving… the psychology of empathy.

Empathy: Weakness or Not?

In simple words, empathy is a feeling in living creatures. The term is defined as “the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either past r present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner.”

There is a say that day-by-day empathy is lost from society. We can see death, violence, crime, and despair every day on the news. It is more likely to say that we are desensitized to animals’ and humans’ suffering. But for animal lovers, why do they emphasize the suffering of the animals?

There is research by criminologist Jack Levin. In this study, people have been asked to respond to a story. The story is that there is a victim who has been assaulted and then left with broken limbs. But a small detail differs, and that is the victim’s identity. The victim can be a baby, an adult, a dog, or a puppy.

The study showed that everyone showed the same amount of empathy when it came to the baby, dog, and puppy. But surprisingly, they were less emphasized by the fact that the victim was a full-grown adult. So, our empathy is related to vulnerability and helplessness rather than species. Other species require our concern, help, and attention. But, there are certain cases where animals are suffering, and our empathy gets heightened.

Unconditional Love

Most people argue about if there is unconditional love or not. But the matter of fact is yes, there is unconditional love, and many people seek and crave that. Suppose, there is a person who loves you with zero expectations, there is no condition, and most importantly, that person loves you for the fact who you are.

Sometimes there is no need to speak a word to feel and tell the love. When it comes to human relationships, there are commodities and fear of judgment, but what about kids? There are still commodities as well. But what about pets?

No matter what situation you are dealing with, you have fought with your partner, your boss has fired you from your job, or you are having a bad day. Your pet will always be there for you. When you are not at your home, they will either search for you or will wait for you. There is no condition that they give you to do for loving you.

Your cat or dog doesn’t care if you are tall or small, skinny or fat, rich or poor. They will love you anyway. The thing that does matter to them is your presence. If you play with them and love them most of the time, they will give you more love than you can get from anyone.

Influence Or Ironies?

You love animals, but do you love all animals? If we talk about facts and reality, we can see that most people love only dogs and cats. But there are people who own snakes as pets. You will be amazed after learning that snakes for one of the top pets in England. Sometimes we get angry after hearing that poachers kill elephants and lions. And we feel the same pain as dogs and cats.

But is it pop culture, or do people feel love and passion for animals? When we have been researching the topic, we have seen many people who show love to animals but, in reality, hate to help them.

To Summarize

So, what we have learned is that there are people who feel the same empathy for animals as they feel about other humans. Please give our valuable feedback in the comment section below.
